My DVR

There is a great thing out there, usually available with HiDef TV. Scott purchased a 50 inch Rear Projection High Definition TV right before we were married (when it was still his money to spend - haha), mainly because his old one crapped out. When this was purchased, we decided to upgrade to the beauty that is high definition TV and a DVR from Comcast. Now that I have moved it I have had the opportunity to enjoy the wonder that is DVR. I have to go to bed earlier now that my commute time is longer and I can now record TV shows that I don't always get a chance to watch. I can go out and have fun and come back to my lovely house and watch my favorite shows, like Project Runway, which is on way too late for me now.

So I highly reccommend the DVR, it is fun and easy to use! Oh and having a 50 inch DPL TV isn't so bad either...

Officially a Mrs.

Yesterday I became officially a Mrs. It was quite fun to have everybody out here and at my wedding, though it is hard to visit with everybody the way you would like. You can't have time for everybody and there are lots of little details to oversee, especially when doing it yourself. However, so many of my friends who were out here helped out that it was much easier than I could've hoped! (A huge thank you for all the friends that helped out!) And I can't mention the wedding without mentioning the great food! My stepfather cooked for all of us and it was a huge hit (if I do say so myself).

Today we went and got my cat, Quizz, and moved him to his (and my) new home. Quizz is adjusting very slowly as there is another cat here. He seems to be a little bit better, but I feel bad for him. Sad, when I have nothing better to do than worry about my cat.

We did open all of our presents today. Actually Scott let me open all the presents, which was quite fun! Everybody was so generous! It was great to read all of the cards, many of which made me cry. I blame the fact that I am a little over emotional right now, I think it is all that 'entering a new phase of my life' bit and the personal messages included in the cards. Here is the picture of the cards we received, and The LoWriter's bridesmaid bouquet which was quite beautiful and which she couldn't take with her in case it might be rigged with explosives (and all the other plane stuff).

I go back to work tomorrow, which is a bummer because I could use some time to recouperate. However, I scheduled it myself so I can't complain too much. Hope everybody is having a great week!

What Not To Do:

Only a week away! That's right, I am getting married soon. Happily ever after is coming... well the closest you can get I am sure. I don't really believe in happily ever after, but it's a nice fairy tell as long as you can still deal with the real world.

To that end, here are some lists of things not to do while attempting to get married:

1. Have a demanding job or a demanding boss (luckily I don't, I just imagine how hard it would be)
2. Try to do it all yourself, which I did. I highly reccommend having friends in the area to take you out and settle you down. It's been pretty misreable planning my wedding and doing everything myself.
3. Be the one making all the decisions. Surround yourself with people who will tell you honestly when you've gone off course and when it looks great. Hopefully it will be great when I get married - nobody outside of my mom has seen everything yet. (And my mom's eclectic).
4. Have lots of people cancel two weeks before the wedding, seriously folks - that's rude!
5. Try to move the same time as you are getting married. Granted, it may be a little bit better than trying to do it the weekend after you get married, but it's still not the best.
6. Be pregnant or start the pill... even though I'm not pregnant I can see how you might kill somebody when planning a wedding and being hopped up on hormones.

I hope that answers all your questions and now you know what not to do! Have a great day, perhaps when I next blog I will have a new name!

More About Life

Did you spend all weekend pondering why there is a boy voicing a obviously female cow in the new movie Barnyard? ...oh so I am alone in this huh... there goes my blog article about gender confusion...

So the days are narrowing down when I am going to walk down the aisle. I had a lovely weekend packing and cleaning for the impending move and my hair done for the impending walk. I had my ring sized, and sadly, as an adult, paid for boxes instead of attempting to beg them off of unsuspecting grocery stores. I love my hairdo, but I am not sure it comes across as great in pictures, my friends will have to say what they thought of it, or they can just wait and tell me it is crappy on my wedding day.

So the seating chart is finished. The welcome letters have been written and the welcome packets made for all out of town arrivals. The schedule has (almost) been set and I am sitting here wondering - do I have to come up with a toast? Crap... I think I might. Who do I toast? My husband to be? Ah, time to consult the bridal books. Weddings for Dummies does come in handy.

I was going to post pictures of my hair, but they didn't turn out so much, so you will have to be there to see it. I hope that everybody is having a great week! I, for one, have lots to get done, what with moving and marriage. Only one more weekend and then I am two days away from seeing good friends! I am so excited!!!
