My DVR

There is a great thing out there, usually available with HiDef TV. Scott purchased a 50 inch Rear Projection High Definition TV right before we were married (when it was still his money to spend - haha), mainly because his old one crapped out. When this was purchased, we decided to upgrade to the beauty that is high definition TV and a DVR from Comcast. Now that I have moved it I have had the opportunity to enjoy the wonder that is DVR. I have to go to bed earlier now that my commute time is longer and I can now record TV shows that I don't always get a chance to watch. I can go out and have fun and come back to my lovely house and watch my favorite shows, like Project Runway, which is on way too late for me now.

So I highly reccommend the DVR, it is fun and easy to use! Oh and having a 50 inch DPL TV isn't so bad either...

I'm so jealous!!! Christy and I have to stay up if we want to watch a show. But, I would do nothing but sit at home and watch tv if I could record the shows I wanted to see. I think that's why daytime tv sucks so much. We would record, Mythbusters, Scrubs, American Chopper, Gilmore Girls, Dirty Jobs, What Not To Wear, and any A's game. I think it would take up most of my time off to watch all that every week. :-)

I heart my Tivo too. I just moved so cable isn't hooked up yet but I had my tivo record a bunch of shows before so I have plenty of shows to watch still.

I usually don't record sports unless it is the olympics or something less popular because the results are usually spoiled by almost any news outlet. I do have the final snowcross (snowmobile) race saved up from last march though that I've been saving to get me in the mood for this winter.

I especially like a few of the anime shows that are on really early in the morning on Adult Swim, also a bonus. I have to say it is nice to go out and not to have to think about what you are missing on TV, not that I would anyway, but now I don't have to be like 'but LOST is on!'. haha, btw the fast forward through commercials feature is very nice. This isn't to say that I don't watch live TV, just that it happens more rarely.

R: I agree with all your shows, except Dirty Jobs, that's kinda gross. And American Chopper, not super interested. Do you watch Dog the Bounty Hunter? Just curious cause I knew you wanted to be one when you were 17. :-)

Jeff: you just have to walk around telling people not to ruin it for you. Though I am sure someone eventually will.

We actually do watch Dog the Bounty Hunter, but C likes it more than I do. I think it might be the mullets. Kind of an ewww factor that I just can't look at for too long.
:-)

The best thing about dirty jobs is the twisted sense of humor that the host has, and the way he jokingly insults everyone on the show. I agree that some of the jobs he does on the show are quite disgusting.

Hey R & C - it's called a VCR - to record your shows - but as you told me when you were 19 - when I asked you to set the time on my new VCR - Mom - I'm not a teen anymore - I don't know how to do that!!! What's up with that???

I think that going out and enjoying life and watching - or not at your convenience is GREAT.

You know what T.V. is anyway - it's commercials intersperced with alittle programing. It's very nice to skip thru those commercials.

I think G was saying that because of these things - like Tivo - the commercial makers are trying to make it so you will watch them - like make them shorter or more interesting.

What's the chance of that. I love watching things on dvd - no commercials AT ALL.

Love,
M
