Does it disturb anybody else that there a shoes randomly left on the side of freeways? Every once in a while I will be driving and see a shoe, usually just one, on the side of the road. Do people stick their feet off the window and lose shoes? Do they just throw them out the window? Did a truck carrying shoes to a store crash and create a shoe explosion?
What is even more distrubing is the children's shoes... I mean seriously. Do you let your children hang their feet out of the car on the freeway? I'm just wondering...
Posted by 10lees at May 5, 2008 06:13 PMYoung kids (or even older kids) sometimes like to throw things. Some people like to drive with the Windows open. Would you try to go back and find it?
Posted by: Jeremy at May 5, 2008 08:14 PMI saw one on the side of the road on the way to church on Sunday. I thought it was pretty funny.
I've also seen other random articles of clothing on the side of the road.
To me it's funnier to think peoples shoes fall off while they're hanging their feet out the window.
Posted by: bleaus at May 6, 2008 06:37 AMthis is what i remember when i see random things on the highway:
i once held my kazoo out the window to see if it would make noise with the wind blowing through it. alas, alack, not only did the kazoo not make noise (silly little megan, wind doesnt hum!)but it was swept away by the 60 mph wind. mom would not turn back around to retrieve the kazoo. poor little megan.
How about a snowboard - remember when we were around Tracy and R's blew off the roof??? What did my responsible 15/16 year old son say, "Ah - just LEAVE it there!" Typical Teen! Well I did back up and we DID pick it up.
Would I turn around to pick up a shoe that fell off the roof or fell out of the window - DANG right - what you gonna do with one shoe - unless you really HATE THOSE SHOES??? :)
And I think that children's shoes could be that the mom put the shoe on the roof of the car b'c she was going to put it back on the child - then forgets - OOPS!
Yesterday I saw a person driving and their gas tank door open and the cap sitting nicely b't the back window and the trunk lip - and they stopped and took turns too (didn't budge)- it was quite entertaining - don't cha know? :) Hopefully, they were able to get that back on the tank later - IF they noticed. :)
How about those shoes that are linked over electric wires? :)
SORRY R!
Did you hear that R's cap for his p.u. flew off in the Livermore area - did he stop and go pick it up? Nope! Maybe he was glad to lose it? or is that loose it?? :) Drove by it a few times - hey that looks familiar! :)
