One of the things Scott and I have been watching recently is The American Experience on PBS. We have now watched the one about George H.W. Bush, and it was fascinating. I highly reccommend it, and you learn so much about the history of America watching this show! For example: who knew that Bush was the head of the Republican party during Whitewater?
The other show we caught last week was 'The Secrets of the Dead' episode Doping for Gold. It was about the East Germany's beaurocratic doping of their athletes during the 1970s to 1980s. The athletes (most of the time) didn't realize they were being doped, as the steroids were mixed in with their vitamens. (Eventually they became shots, and more of them realized what was being done). East Germany started doping their athletes VERY young, as young as 12 to 14. This was all because they wanted glory for their country and it's amazing how far they got - and what havoc it wreaked on their athletes bodies. If you can catch this episode I would highly reccommend it.
Not much other education programming recently - just the usual episodes of Dr Who, Battlestar, How I Met Your Mother and 30Rock... ah, such a waste of time...
