Since I was reading Time, I thought I'd share some of the recommended vaccines for all US Adults: click here for the article.
And just like Jeff mentions, the CDC says that vaccines are part of a healthy life.
Posted by 10lees at January 26, 2008 08:18 PMThat's interesting stats on shingles - 1/2 of all people who make it to 85 get it. WOW! That's a reason to endure that vaccine. Now I've gotten the Hep A and Hep B vaccine ... but my dr. has not recommended the others. :) My immune system is so ramped up that I'm sure I don't need it - I think I will get the shingles one someday. :)
You're lucky that you've been given the Rubella shot - I was given that just after marriage - cause the German Measles is a really bad disease for a preggo woman's child - one more thing to worry about - maybe ask your dr. if you need a booster on that one? :) But I don't think I got many vaccines when growing up - polio - but not much more.
Now this is a novelette - sorry! Love, Mom!
Thanks for linking that article. As someone who works with immunizations everyday, it was still very informative.
