Pet Peeves: The Radio Edition

Since beginning to drive to work in September I have heard any number of idiotic radio commercials. However one takes the cake, it's for cars and they have 'agressfully' priced their cars to sell. I'm positive 'agressfully' is not a word, especially used in that context.

Another ad is the Weisfield (Goodman?) Jeweler Ad campaign where the girl giggles and says 'I almost microwaved the box!', which is where her husband/fiancé/boyfriend hid her gift. If I never hear this and 'He Bought It At Jared!' again - my life will be complete.

Really - it's just the 'agressfully' that gets to me. Could we all stick to words that are actually English? Or at least common used slang terms...

Any that you've heard - even TV commercials count.

well, the way i get around annoying commercials like that is to listen to npr... nothing like hearing "morning edition was funded by a grant from the kauffman foundation - the kaufmann foundation: dedicated to entrepreneurial endeavors" every day... at least they use correct verbiage and punctuation (unlike myself...)

Ya - I don't like the Jerod commercial over and over again - they need to change that one. Retire it!
How about Keo - mortgage?! UGH! What a pain. I do hear them more on 570 am than 105.3 than I used to.
How about "head on" apply directly to the forehead - and they repeat it 15 times. UGH!
How about almost every commercial that you can't figure out WHAT they are selling - but it raises your blood pressure and you are pretty interested in buying it by the end - IF you could just remember what they're selling - all it does to me is confuse me ... what was that - pickles, car, perfume - a grocery store ... ??? But I'm old.
Oh - did you notice that Paul Herlinger is doing voice overs for KCTS or the other PBS station? Mr. Whitaker - so nice to hear you.... Warms my heart!
What is that word - aggressively? - I agree that the way they are using it is pretty 1984 - :)
Love you - Mom
