I don't know if anybody watches Monday Night Football, but if you did you probably saw how horribly it snowed in Seattle. Now, for Minnesota that snow wouldn't be bad, but for Seattle it wasn't so great. Somehow during the height of the snow I ended up on a bus that was in a ditch. The bus driver managed to navigate it out of the ditch, and set up safely back down the hill, but that was an adventure I won't soon forget.
Today I woke up to a good two inches covering my (rental) car and I drove this lovely car very carefully to the train station. No accidents, but there was a bit of ice. From the South Sound up to Seattle there is at least 2-4 inches of snow on the ground... but you hit Seattle and it clears up! My coworkers probably wondered why I cancelled dinner with them last night to attempt to get home, but the three hour commute time it did take me seemed better than the 5 hour commute times I was hearing about elsewhere in the Sound.
So, hurrah, snow! You have created a winter wonderland (sorta).
Posted by 10lees at November 28, 2006 07:44 AMI'm just a tad jealous of all your snow!
Posted by: bleaus at November 28, 2006 09:02 AMBush League!! We had a crappy thunderstorm in MN this morning. It snowed in October and rained in November.
Posted by: jeff at November 28, 2006 09:26 AMOh I would like to point out the strangest thing: we had lightning and thunder during our snowstorm. I have never ever seen that, it was so odd, and it was continual like in a real thunderstorm. Creeeepy!!!!
Posted by: 10lees at November 28, 2006 09:41 AMweird!! we're sitting in 60+ weather right now. it's very bizzare.
Posted by: dr gonzo at November 28, 2006 10:22 AMWeird... I have often wondered what lighting during a snow storm would look like.
I miss the snow. Texas and snow have never been buddies.
Posted by: babada at November 28, 2006 12:08 PMSo T. sounds like you've had a relaxing week - who in this area has??? Raise your hand. I think the children have - that's about all. We had 6" of snow in the yard and I forgot how much I love snow because you have to stay home and rest. That's what I loved so much about Fbks - you sometimes couldn't go out. I know in the lower 48 it's hard to stay home - you have to think of a really good reason to do it.
But when it's snowing and there's 2" of ice on the roadway - it's easy to just stay home and avoid an accident.
So when you getting your car back? And when will you answer all the annoying questions I asked you this week?
love,
m
