Baking Mistakes

So tonight I made some Potato Rolls... and accidentally forgot to put in the sugar. I was a little worried when I figured this out (which was right after I had put them in the oven). Amazingly they turned out just fine - which means that sugar is not that important of an ingredient.

I was also bummed the Seahaks lost in OT after looking fairly solid most of the game... but my consolation is that the Bears lost too! Bwahahaha...

Oh you are MEAN to those bears! ;) And those rolls were they yeast? The only thing that sugar does with yeast rolls is helps the yeast when it's first put in the water start bubbling or whatever you'd like to call that. Ya - I was on a walk when the lost here - cause I figured ... well you know! :( Love you, Mom

Hmmm, it was a recipe that had yeast, but it still rose and tasted good. However, I don't remember the yeast bubbling that much.

I just like picking on megs... :-)

Well it doesn't HAVE to bubble at all - it still will rise - given the time and by the by potatoes have enuf natural sugars in them to make up for any lack of 1/4 or 1/2 cup sugar. :)
Check out your cousins blog - she put up the SNL Tina Fey/Amy Poeler skit - it's HILARIOUS. You can get to it from my Southern Oregon one. :) I'M STILL LAUGHING!!!! :)

Actually we saw it on TV (the wonders of DVR - I don't have to stay up late to watch SNL). It is hilarious! I loved the Hillary Clinton impression too - I think if she could get away with throwing a hissy fit in real life, she would... :-) I know I would if I was her...
