Planning Other's Life

My family was very close growing up and for some reason my brother and I never went through the angsty teenager phase. Or at least the part of it that leads you to hate hanging out with your family. My mom, bro and I would go to movies together until I moved to MN; and my bro and I went to movies together alone as well - often those who saw us thought we were dating (apparently our last name was not well known otherwise classmates might have noticed that we HAD THE SAME ONE!). So is it any mystery that I want my family to live close to me now that we are all older and married?

So to that end I have been planning, or rather plotting, how to get everybody to move here - because I am not moving 'there'. Now I can't force anybody to move, but isn't this house great for my brother? Of course if he needed something a little bit cheaper we have those houses as well. And this house would be great for my mom!

Now if only they'd bend to MY needs, right?

That first one is a nice house. Too bad it isn't in an area that gets more snow... like the mountains.

I love that you love your family! That relationship is so special. Unfortunately, Greg and I have the opposite problem... we can't move back to CA until some of my family moves out of CA. :) That said, I was looking at some lovely houses in Los Gatos online last night. :)

yeah, now i want that first house! anyone have a down payment for me? anyone?

jeff, while it's true that we don't actually get snow in the valley that often, we actually are very very close to snow. Did you see my post on your blog about all our record snowfall? 6 feet in one day this year? We're only 45 minutes from the mountains.

Los Gatos Jess? Isn't that far away from your family? I guess nothing compares to living across the country! :-)

Dr G, I bet you could get it cheaper! It's actually quite high priced for the area, but I kept driving past it and thinking 'it's so cute!'. I think 305K is a more reasonable price for the house. You could always try squatting - if you manage to live there a year it's yours! The way the real estate market is going I'm surprised more people aren't taking advantage of that...

Well if your plotting you have to make sure to find them jobs to pay for those houses. Thats just my opinion though, not that I've never moved without a job before..

Oh, pretty much anybody can find R a job, but I have one waiting up here for him, it's called Law Enforcement and they always need people. :-)

I like the houses, but I can't move right now. I have mees no money!!! I would love to move up there sooner or later. C and I were talking about maybe moving to the Portland area. That way we would be closer and not get rained on all the time.

We shall see though. I passed my day qualifications on pistol and shotgun today! Yipee. Only 5 weeks to go!

Love ya

Well Tenley - just give us about 5-10 years and we'll be down there. Now I'm not that FAR from you - it's just that 55 miles is TOO FAR - I guess! :) You gotta come see us instead of that family in Beaverton - COME ON NOW! Yeah - R - Portland is a GOOD IDEA - closer than Stockton ;). Oops - sorry giving everyone's locations - just to even out the field - we live in Lynnwood! ;) Although it may become Mukilteo soon - well - maybe a year from now. WOOHOO! Now don't that sound classy!? I may not be able to move after it becomes Mukilteo - how about us moving to Camano Island - that's about 100 miles from you - would you be more inclined to come up there???? :)
We'll have to spend some more Saturdays together Ten. Hacking away at the bushes and planting some annuals ... take care of your back k?
Love,
Mom

hey ten - log into my space and check out the photo display there - it's really cool!!!! :)

well, if i squatted and acquired the house by default, then i wouldnt have to have a job to pay for it, would i??? hmm... this is sounding more and more viable...

Oh - and IT'S lovely for you to think of me this way. :) If I wasn't married and had to take care of my Mom - I'd be there - :) Puyallup - can I walk to downtown from that little house? :)
Talk to you later,
Love,
Mom

I know you can't move up now, but hint, hint nice houses! :-) Portland is about the same weather as Puyallup - and definetly better than Lynnwood (seriously, it's the convergence zone). C's mom (&stepdad) could even move up! There are some really nice houses in Issaquah/Bellevue... I know they'd like them! (look I can even plan my sister in law's mom's life, pathetic!)

Wait - so deputies carry shotguns? This sounds scary. I'll be sure not to mess with any sheriffs who pull me over...

Mom - you could walk to downtown from the house... nice huh??

Squatting is a pretty good option, I'd do it if I didn't have a house.

Deputies carry handguns, shotguns and rifles... and tasers, and batons, and OC spray... and all sorts of other painful devices in order to gain compliance. I wouldn't mess with any of them. :-)

We're hoping to take a road trip sometime in the future, and look at different areas we might like to move to. Then we'll have a better idea of where we might like to end up.

Don't taze me bro!

HAHAHA I'm hilarious!

Even YOUR Dad carried a shotgun - it was just on the passenger side of the car. Your Dad had to pull it once when pulling a suspected theft of an auto - he had to get the guy to come out of the van. :( I have his commendation letter about that out in my studio.

Walk to downtown - HEAVENLY - I've been looking for a nice place just like Ashland - remember that - walking to downtown to do banking and shopping - I LOVED IT. No driving needed. And to the library too. We were in a really central location too. :)
