Twees of Mystery!!

Many of you probably are aware that I am currently on a family vacation, with one husband and two kids. We traveled by car down to California to visit my brother and his family, and my Mom and Glenn and Stepsis, Gabby, all traveled down as well. We were able to have a very happy third and fourth of July, I got to spend time with my little nephew Marcus, who is adorable and makes me want to have one of my own. He even says some words now, like raising his hands and saying up (he did this to me a lot, I am proud to say); Roland will even say 'up what?' and he'll say 'up please!' in his little baby voice. There is probably nothing more cute than that. I had earned a kiss from him by the time I left! It only makes me wish that we all lived closer together... I wish this would just magically be so without anyon having to move somewhere, because I don't think it will happen.

Now on the way down we drove along the Oregon coast, it was quite pretty (I have some good pictures) and we stopped and spent a day in the Redwoods. This brings us to our title, the Tree of Mystery is a tourist trap (I love them!) in the Redwoods. It has a gondola that goes up in the trees and it has a huge tree called 'The Brotherhood Tree' which is 270 feet tall and 19 feet in diameter. I have pictures, but alas I am in a simple hotel room right now and cannot download. We called them the 'Twees of Mystery' (said in a kind of a 'Princess Bride voice - 'Bwings us together, today'), which is cute at first but gets old when the kids don't stop saying it. We had lots of fun though and I really feel as if the kids and I are starting to build a good relationship. All it took was a vacation, or two.

Well I will have to tell you about the rest of our trip later, right now we are in Weed, California. We have two more stops tomorrow and then we will be back home. Our cats are currently being boarded at our vets, which is probably better than them wreaking havoc on our house with nobody to watch them. I sure do feel bad about leaving poor Quizz in the cage though, I got to put him back in there and I think he was a little hurt. I wonder if he'll be glad to see me...

what a fabulous vacation!! and i'm sure Quizz will eventually forgive you for the "trauma" of being fed regularly, pet constantly and not harrassed by orange kitty... ;o)

Ahh, Redwoods. You are going to make me cry -- so homesick! I love walking in the Redwood groves where everything feels cool, clean, and lush! Sounds wonderful - glad that you had a great trip and a chance to bond!

I am not sure about the 'petting constantly' part of being boarded, they seemed pretty deprived when they got home... of course this is just because they missed ME!! right??

Yes the redwoods were beautiful! I am going to put up some pictures right now.
