Ah, Life

Sometimes you just get so busy that it is hard to remember to keep in touch with everybody, or even to update your blog. Basically I have been hanging out with my fiance, planning my wedding, working, and sleeping. I do have health insurance now, so I am going to see if I can't fix the 'sleeping' part. Does anybody know if the doctor can describe caffine pills? Perhaps I could get my health insurance to cover my Starbucks purchases? That would be amazing.

What I am working on right now for the wedding (I know this is a thrill to everybody's day, but it's all I can write about currently): MUSIC! That's right, what kind of music should I have at the wedding, walk down the aisle to, ect. Very exciting, as is sarcasm.

Also working on: the CEREMONY! Actually, THE VOWS! We don't want to stand up there for a really long time, so I am looking for some sort, but not too short, and simple vows. Did you know that there is NOTHING out there I have found that talks about the variety of vows. Seriously, I don't want to have to do this much research to do these vows.

In other news: do not use TurboTax, they suck and they attempt to rip you off and use lame excuses when they do and won't fix the problem. I give them an overall thumbs down. I am going to use the H&R Block site because it is FREE! This is probably old news to everybody, but I have slacked on my taxes this year - mainly because I was trying to get TurboTax to honor the advert they sent me. No reason they won't honor it, outside of the fact that they are trying to rip me off.

I hope you all have a wonderful week!

I am sure most, if not all, doctors can describe caffeine pills. :)

Here is hoping this comment actually goes through...

I'm not even a doctor and I can _describe_ them. They are usually small and white. They come in a bottle usually with a clever name that sounds like anti-sleep, like no-doze. Oh and they make you all crazy if you take too many of them, sort of like the tazmanian devil with all the incoherent jibberish but none of the cool spinning and destruction.

In case any of us have a vote for wedding music, I vote to veto Pachebel's Canon in D since everyone and their brother uses that in weddings.

Yes Canon in D is overused. And I refused to have the 'Here comes the bride', because we used to sing a horrible rhyme to that tune when I was a child. And Mendelssohn's Wedding March is out too. I did hear a song I LOVED in Pride and Prejudice, but when I listened at the soundtrack it wasn't on there. This means I will have to rent to movie, dang it, and then try and match it from my experience. I bet it is listed at the end of the movie too... hmmmm.

Any other vetos or suggestions?

i veto happy birthday and the hokey pokey from the ceremony... :)

oh yeah, and caffiene pills (if too many are taken) make you say things like: "i'm so excited, i'm so.........scared, zach" (gotta love the saved by the bell...they taught me the danger of caffiene pills)

wow, i remember that episode! poor jessie. and ten, remember how cracked out we were sophomore year? seriously, you dont want to do that again. :o) seriously, 30 lattes in a week is no good. seriously. (anyone else catch Kim Possible on Sat morning?? my fav).

as for vows, the person who's performing the ceremony should have a good stock of ideas. if she doesnt, i can give you pastor craig richter's addy, and i know for a fact tht he does. :o)

and all i have to say, is "go tell it on the mountain" is an awesome song to walk out to. hheheee...

brooke, now that you have tivo I hope you have saved by the bell setup to record all the time. Seriously, _greatest_show_ever_. Good thoughts on the music selections too. Veto the chicken dance as well.

10, what sort of instrumentation do you have access to? Classical trumpet fanfares are always majestic. Mix in a little power organ and you can turn the whole church on its head.

Well jeff that is another sticky point, I am trying to decide on a song before I decide what I want to do, but it will probably be a piano or sound system. I just don't have the bucks to shell for a big (or small) group. So it either has to be pretty piano pieces that someone can adequately play, or it will have to be sound system which every book I've read says is 'tacky'. Of course they are in the bridal industry, but I'm already breaking their photographer rule.

Anyway, still debating (can you tell?).

Caffine pills are bad, but I have a Dr appt on Wednesday! Didn't think I'd ever be excited about that, come to think of it, I'm not really... at least I don't have to be at work!

As far as a song goes, this is moderately trendy but what about something like "You and Me" by Rosie Thomas? You could rock this with a piano + soloist or the sound system.
You're in her neck of the woods and she's pretty cool, maybe send her an invite and offer her like $50 and a puppy doe and she'll do it herself :)

anyone want to send me a copy of You and Me - I vaguely remember the song, but I don't own a rosie album (sacralige I know) - but I don't own many albums at all...

so email me the file!! :-)

just thought I'd share that with you and your readership.

It's mid July and T finally found the music - but I shouldn't tell you except that Dean Martin will escort them out at the end - very nice song!!! :)

We found the song on a fluke when in a Bed, Bath & Beyond store standing in front of one of those c.d. display things where you push the c.d. display and they play you a selection.

Love,
m
